Pacific Newspaper, September 30, 1994, "The Cameraman, or the One who Caught the Rainbow". By Yulia Voitovskaya (poet)

"The world of Vasily Reshchuk’s paintings is infinite. The intimacy of his work in tempera, watercolor, pastel, and gouache is apparent. Even the smallest piece of the Truth holds the essence of the entire Truth. The door is thrown open into space, into the world of feelings, voices and sounds. Those of us who follow him into this wonderful world are not in danger. We can squint, shield ourselves and not believe. But the artist is fearless; he accepts the pulse of life. The unseen currents flow through his veins and nerves, and through his inspired creations he expresses the pulses and vibrations embodied within. The artist becomes the spring, the sun, the water, and the trembling air of the autumn morning. His love of life illuminates this life, and animates the dead snows, the forgotten shacks, the desolate roads. Nature loves creators and does not hide its face from them – whether in tears or in joy."
