History of Fountainhead

Fountainhead was founded on top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle in 1996 by Sue and Ron Peterson who at that time lived about 10 blocks away.  The idea was to have a place to exhibit art furniture and custom woodwork along with original art.  After a major renovation of the space, they started to hold two-month long art exhibits by contemporary Northwest artists which eventually transitioned to a fine art gallery featuring a new art exhibit every month.

By 2016, the mission of Fountainhead expanded to become a cultural center including musical performance.  A baby grand piano was acquired and a series of musical performances began under the umbrella of Fountainhead Art + Culture.  The goal was to offer intimate gallery concerts by top classical and jazz performers, spoken word such as poetry and a presentation/discussion format with speakers who are experts in their field which we refer to the Enlighten Me Series.  This was all put on hold in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic and is now in process of restarting.  Check our email newsletter for updates.
