Jordan Parietti earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Northwestern University. She started her career in Seattle as Advertising Manager for Microsoft during its early days. After stepping down, she and her husband focused on raising their three boys on Queen Anne Hill. She immersed herself in various forms of art through their school, ultimately redirecting her career and attending Gage Academy of Art. During her time at Gage, Jordan was accepted into the prestigious Classical Atelier, a rigorous four-year program modeled after the French academic tradition.
Jordan’s artistic intention is to create paintings where time seems to hang suspended, unhurried to move forward. Often painting still lifes, she chooses subjects with ephemeral and reflective qualities that represent life’s recurring cycles. In her floral paintings, Jordan focuses on light’s journey and shadow’s corresponding passage across her arrangements, not as independent travelers, but as characters able to take each other’s role. She seeks to mirror this contradiction in her paintings, explaining, “Whether an unbroken wash, a flood of brightness or a veiled ambiguity, the greatest clarity is often found at the moment between sun and shadow.” Jordan currently lives with her husband and works in her home studio in Queen Anne.
