Susie Wind was raised in the Southwest, primarily Utah. After losing her enthusiasm for
chemistry and physics during school, she changed course, earning a BFA in painting and drawing
from the University of Utah and a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling Psychology
from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, California. Susie uses painting as a mindfulness
practice, challenging herself to create her compositions in such a way that she can appreciate
their simplicity and complexity without imposing narrative. She enjoys relinquishing control of
her paint and materials, allowing them to make their own story. Susie hopes to capture small
details of something universal or collective, creating a momentary sense of curiosity, balance,
and timelessness.
